JOURNALJOURNAL ENTRY September 14,2011 I'm excited about this school year because I'm going to graduate. Everyday I wake up tired but I wake up happy, knowing that I'm a day closer to graduating. What do I think of my classes? each class I take is kind of boring, but I have to remain focus. My teachers constantly remind us in various ways to stay focus and to keep our priorities in tact. The work is easy and the classes are type short. Time tend to drag when certain period are up, but its worth it. Honestly I can say that I'm feeling pretty confident about this year. If I keep my head straight and my mind on graduation, I can do it. I am just ten credits away from finishing high school. Once I receive my diploma I'm going to be doing back flips. When I think back about the mistakes I made in the past, It makes me think about the progress I made now as a young adult. I grew as a person and I can say that I'm ready for college. September 15,2011 Today was different from yesterday, I woke up not knowing what to wear. Then finally my outfit popped into my head. Now that my day has started and I'm in school I would love to be back home. Why ? because I'm tired, more like exhausted. I just can't wait until graduation. Cellphone Radiation was a fun and interesting topic for a project. We read articles online and watched videos to gather our personal opinions that supported or disagreed with the main topic, which was "Is cellphone radiation dangerous or a hoax?" The class used the information we gathered and used it to create a web page supporting our ideas and opinions. This took me about two days to learn how to use the web space in supporting my argument. My essay took some time and thinking because the most important thing that caught my attention was how radiation can cause birth affects and cancer. This led me to discuss the health concerns and risk. My goal was to make myself more aware of the dangers or radiation being transmitted through a cell phone. I was conversing with my math teacher Daniel about my project, he was interested about how radiation was being transmitted through a phone. He asked questions like "Is it dangerous for you to be a phone for a long time?"and "Even if I were to use a ear piece or talk on the phone would it still be transmitted?". He was shocked and yet amazed about the hazardous effects of cellphone radiation. Then I showed him the pictures I used to support my argument and he seem to like them.
Learning about cellphone radiation was boring but yet a stimulating experience.
It took time for me to adapt to the level of commitment that was needed to complete this project.
Ted had the class watch a video about the cell phone radiation and how it was being used to pop four popcorn kernels.
At first I thought it was a hoax. But the more I watched the videos the more I began to believe it was true.
So as I became more eager to learn about the relationship between cell phones and radiation, I jumped right into
starting my paper. We gathered information that was based on the topic and started working.
As my paper slowly came about I started to become bored with the topic, but I never lost interest.
Knowing that it led me to putting more effort into my work because I didn't want to show my lack of
interest in this topic. Overall this project have made me limit how much I am on a cellphone because
of the transmission on radiation. What I learned about myself is that once I start to work on a
assignment that isn't your best of interest, it can easily change my mind.
