Number One Son

Number One Son

We appreciate our parents by showing gratitude for the things they do. Or we love them for all the times we needed them. Even though sometimes they can be there all the time, they're always around at all. We grow to resent them. Or we have a feeling of hatred growing down inside. And this is what Ming started to have for his father. Times will get hard when knowing that you're the one that has to supply and stay strong for your family. Especially when you're drowned in sorrow and depression. Sometimes you can't let it show but it'll find a way to escape.

Ming father was a dish washer at a restaurant. Even though it wasn't good for his body. He was still eager and determined to get the job done. Sometimes the pay wasn't all that great but he still had to support his family some how. Ming had a job as a houseboy. As a houseboy Ming job is too clean the house and to help Mrs. Warner two boys with their homework and play with them. Ming would ravel home once a week on a Sunday. That's when he heard the news about his father's passing. The holiday being celebrated at this time was Christmas. Ming doesn't feel sad in a strong way. But he is still affected by his father's death. Now that's he's gone He's aware of the level of responsibilty that he has to take on a the number one son. Ming mother didn't call him as soon as his father died because she didn't want to disrupt him from his work. Also she didn't want to stress his out. Ming is only fifteen years old and he's already having trouble with balancing school and his duty as a house boy.

When Ming arrived to his neighborhood he was walking down the street when he noticed the group of boys playing football. He always wanted to play but his father never taken the time out to teach him. Then he remembered the football and helmet under Mrs. Warner's Christmas tree. They were gifts from the children father. One boy asked him to join the game, but another boy snickered to him "Leave him alone his father just died." But Ming kept walking to his house. When Ming arrived there he seen the look of depression on his siblings faces. He didn't want to worry them so he kept walking. When he seen his mother he noticed that she had been crying also. Ming did not know the right words, he wished to hold his mother. The family was gathered in the living room. That's when Ming mother started to share the bad new about their father passing. The family was alright but they weren't the best. Ming looked around and seen how strong his family was. The death of his father had made the family stronger. It also brought the family together.
